Not sure this is where I’m meant to post this – but can’t seem to add a picture if I do it anywhere else…
I have 2 favourite design books, the first is ‘Graphic Design Referenced’ – useful for starting off in design, and looking back to. It has (almost) everything Liam has ever taught us in it… and includes those designers with weird names that you can’t quite remember, the fathers of design, the golden section, photographers, key events in design, fonts you should know, and much more. Definitely a worthwhile reference. Each designer/topic has a double-page with images about their work and practice and with 389 pages there’s a lot of material in there!

The second book, and my most recent purchase, is called ‘Colour Mania’, as well as being a beautifully produced book (just something nice to own – and you have a choice of which front cover colour you want) it sections some fantastic design work by colour – maybe doesn’t sound like much, but I’ve had lot of inspiration from this book! It covers 157 studios and practitioners and shows off some fantastic design. Useful in showing how to use colour well in your work, but also just a huge catalogue of current best design practice.
