This project was really a collaboration between my cousin Michael Magowan (the owner of the spot), my uncle Neil Magowan and myself. Basically my cousin wanted to open up a Cafe style place which had a music side to it. His intention was for a relaxing venue which could hold small style gigs and acoustic performances as well as serve food and drink.
As far as the sign goes my cousin wanted the design to suggest a music aspect to the place, after some attempts of coming up with ideas my cousin decided upon the text being placed on top of a sheet of music. The next point was the design of the text, my cousin wanted it to have a kind of handwriting look to it so this brought in my uncle so is very good at Art full stop but who is very good at Calligraphy. After some time drawing together ideas we settled on one. All I had to do was to create an illustrator file of the design in order to get printed.
Overall I feel the design is quite eye-catching and along with the bright pink paint stands out well, particularly in the street in which it is situated in.
