This video was co-directed by Anni Kronenberg and Lucinda Schreiber. It’s a music video for a band called Firekites and their song called ‘Autumn Story’. I instantly fell in love with it as soon I saw the first second and can not stop watching it. It is such a beautiful, soft, emotional stop animation, in which the music and the animation flow hand in hand together. I have seen many stop animations but I have never seen them created by chalk on a chalkboard, its such an easy medium to use once you think about it, it’s easier to alter and change. I love how the designers left the debris from the chalk that had been rubbed out present around the characters it just adds to the whole effect. The design style of the illustration is beautiful, its very simple and yet not traditional. This video has really inspired me, Im totally going to experiment with this method.
