Animating Your Rights 12-2pm
26th Feb - Belfast Exposed

NIHRC
Still from Gareth Humphreys award winning animation for the NIHRC in 2007

A collaborative human rights project from the Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission and the University of Ulster, with support from the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland and ACNI. Final year Visual Communication students at the University made short animated films and screen savers to encourage young people to express their views on human rights and raise public awareness of local human rights issues.

Since beginning in 2005, it has been and continues to be challenging and thought provoking, a hugely rewarding collaboration for all involved. We believe that the exciting new work created through this project can be used to inspire people by giving expression to the meaning of human rights in the local context.

With Peter O’Neill, Chief Executive, Northern Ireland Human Rights Commission and Christine Blaney, Lecturer in Multimedia and Animation Design, Univ. Ulster.
